Why Tailwind Advisory Exists
Hi, I'm Julie. I have spent 19 years as a flight attendant, which means I have also spent 19 years trying to stay healthy in conditions that were not exactly designed for it — irregular sleep, recycled air, time zone chaos, airport food, and a schedule that reshuffles every week. Outside of flying, I also run a small business — and show up as a sister, a godmother, a girlfriend, and a friend — which means my schedule is full in ways that have nothing to do with time zones. I did not find the answers in mainstream wellness advice. Most of it assumes you have a regular schedule, a home kitchen, and a Sunday to prep. That is not my life. It probably is not yours, either. So I went looking. I read the research, worked with practitioners, and experimented until I built an approach that actually works — not in theory, but on real days, when everything is inconvenient. Along the way I completed years of self-directed study in functional nutrition, sleep science, and metabolic health and have continued studying independently ever since. Tailwind Advisory exists because the single most useful thing I ever had was structure, clarity, and someone who had already figured out the hard parts. That is what I offer here. I am not a doctor or a licensed clinician. Everything I share is educational. But I have done the work, built the system, and I can help you build yours.
For a long time, I thought I just wasn't disciplined enough. That if I tried harder, tracked more, optimized better, I could make the standard advice work for my life. I bought the programs, hired the coaches, followed the protocols. Most of them helped — for a while. Then a schedule change would hit, a string of red-eyes, a few weeks of international routes, and the whole system would collapse.
It wasn't a discipline problem. It was a design problem.
The advice I was following was built for a different kind of life. And until I stopped trying to fit into those frameworks and started building my own — around my actual schedule, my actual constraints, my actual body — nothing really held.
